Arete and politics
This moment is so integral, integrated with all moments before and all moments that follow.
I have been given the opportunity to fast. To be in a focused state of freedom, experiencing the art of listening like never before. I am hearing so much. Hearing the pain, the hope, the possibilities, the superficiality, the echo of culture's heartbeat, my own heart receiving the joy of knowing oneself.....i am listening intently within the space of arete for the meaning of politics.
It is caucus time in Iowa. Forth quarter, twenty days till January 3, candidates everywhere expressing the issues and asking for support.
My body is going through the withdrawal of addictive behavior. Wanting something to fulfill the void of not listening. Food becomes a substitute for listening....listening to oneself, listening to the heart of reality. Listening to each and every cell of my body. Listening to each and every relationship in my community.
Hearing priorities of possibilities. Hearing the pain of letting go to old addictive patterns.
Politics is all about empowerment. Here and now the power of Being Oneself is coming into conflict with giving one's power to one to seeks it, one who wants to take it from me, one who can act as controller and creator of systems of empowerment with a simple vote, a simple act of standing in a corner with other dis-empowered souls.
I am an artist. You are an artist. Born in total and complete freedom of being the most amazing genius known to the planet. We are creators and designers of our own unique perspectives of how to experience the ultimate freedom of BEING ONESELF.
